Wildlife Team Wins at State Contest

Recently the Madison County 4-H Adventure Club went to the W.H.E.P. state competition. Nine competitors went and each won medals. W.H.E.P. stands for Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program. What is WHEP you say? In WHEP 4-Hers learn to examine and tell what an animal is by looking at it's picture and whether it is male or female. They also evaluate a set area and tell how to improve it for a certain species. David Yowell was a senior competitor. The junior advanced group was: Kelly Jarvis, Becki Broyles and Caleb Kellison. The junior beginner group was: Aaron Yowell, Emily Downing and Meagan Ward. The beginner group was Isaiah Byrd and Megan Downing. All of the 4-Hers placed in the contest. Maybe next year someone else will come and join in the fun!
