Photos from High Elements and LEGO Classes

With only two days in each class this year, instructors have jumped right into programming. High Elements started with the climbing wall today.

Always safety first!

Teamwork makes the dream work!

So. Much. Walking.

Always. Up. Hill. ;) Great kiddos getting lots of exercise this week.

LEGO students making rubber band cars.

And then racing them on the tile floors.

So Much Camp News to Catch You Up On

We've been having so much fun we haven't had time to post, so here's a photo dump! The e-mails to campers are rolling in, so we know the families are following our posts.

Yesterday was HOT, a perfect afternoon for time in the "ool".

Free rec offered time to choose your own activities, hang out with friends, play ga-ga, make bracelets, draw on poster paper, play cards, or just rest.

Our evening program was Pack Challenges. One camper from each pack was chosen to complete various challenges, such as...

Stacking a series of hex nuts using only a wooden skewer...

Doing the most push-ups in one minute (56!!! for Maddox)...

And building a creation out of LEGOs that the rest of your pack then had to correctly identify what is was.

Storms rolled through with a lot of noise, but not much rain, so all the evening festivities had to be moved indoors.

The indoor campfire featured the Bucket Skit. Thank goodness for amazing adult volunteers like Spoon and MJ who are good sports. (They were the only ones we got video of, but the Great Bears, Salty, and Crash also got surprised by what was under the middle bucket.)

In case you couldn't tell...it was Koda's head! Koda is a staffer who sat under the tables.

The Good Times are Rolling at Camp

The summer staff came up with a creative way to light the campfire, imitating animals as they entered the campfire circle.

Our evening program was "Let's Make a Deal". Planners were disappointed no one received the jar of Lake Culpeper water as a zonk! :) They did earn some cool prizes, though.

Breakfast was sausage, eggs, yogurt, and apples.

Compound serves as Keeper of the Claws and updates the leaderboard at meals. This is often followed by lots of cheering. (Bear claws are like points for those of you new to camp.)

We like to see smiling faces!

Today is red, white, and blue day; there are sooooo many creative outfits.

Monday Fun-day for Camp

The afternoon was spent in rotations between recreational programming and time swimming at the "ool". (Notice there's no "P" in it - hahaha - camp jokes!)

In pack meetings, our Eagles, Deer, Bobcats, and Crows spent time getting to know each other, planning their presentations for campfire, and deciding what they will gift to the Great Bears on Wednesday.

We printed lots of emails for campers, plus we received some handwritten letters! We also got the coolest delivery we think we've seen at camp -- and he was one happy camper to receive it!

Shew! Summer weather and humidity are definitely here for camp, but we're having fun sweating it out! :)

Sunday's trip was uneventful (that's a good thing), and we had orientation, pack meetings, and dinner. Our evening program was a rotation of swim tests, water games, land games, and parking lot art with chalk.

This morning we had lots of fun classes.  Now we are off to pool and rec.
